World War 1 began on July 28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. Participants from WW1 Were the British Empire Including New Zealand ,Russian Empire,America and much more. US entered the war on April 6, 1917. The Victoria cross was awarded to all of the soldiers who fought in the war.
The New Zealand and Australian troops were called the ANZACS, that is why we wear the poppy flower. Every one hundred years on the 4th of August if you have a flag you should always put it half mast. So many flags today, will be flown at half mast.
The special saying of the WW1 is “ the shot that echoed around the world”.
Now days they don’t have any wars. Mr Burts grandfather and Miss Flavelles grandfather were both a part of the World War 1. Gas was one of the most affecting and damaging weapon. I also have a recording of me at the bottom of this post.Audio recording software >>
