Learn,Create and Share

My movie. from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.
Learn-
Kia Orana, This year I got an opportunity to use a  chrome (device). We learn new things online, then write our it into our docs.  I have learnt about Victorian era and what games they have. It is really hard but I try my best to finish all work.  I also do learning in a group with Miss Ouano. Check it out and leave a comment.

Create-
We then had to create a Google presentation about what toys were invented. Here is the link to the presentation I did. This piece of learning is a glimpse of what I have learnt through out the term done with Miss Wood's help. Creating is one of my favorite things. Not just creating but learning to. I like creating things like Mask's, Paper art and more.

Share-
Then we have to share our amazing work on our individual blogs. Eventually people from all around the world then visit our blogs and comment interesting thoughts of theirs. And that is how I Learn, Create and Share my learning.

Sustainability

Do you know anything about Sustainability?   The word sustainability means that your taking care of the environment with the economy's. And last but not least Society.

By watching this Video you will find out some things about bees. Bee's help the world to survive. Did you know if we did not have bee's the world wouldn't survive. Bee's are helping to produce the world. When bee's sting they die, and when you spray them they die. We don't want bee's to die we want them to live.

Going to Levin

This weekend I went down to Levin.  Levin is a place that is close to Wellington. The reason I went down to Levin is because my nana recently moved to Levin. The house is beautiful. Her house is in Kowhai, a place in Levin. During the time in Levin we met up with family, had a tour of the house and went up to town.

The house that my nana is in now has two lounges, four bedrooms , one garage, three sheds, sunroom and a bathroom.  And of course a kitchen. Did you know that the master bedroom comes with a ensuite itself.

And did you know that one of the sheds came with a ride on lawn mower, isn't that cool. At the back of the house there is a paddock with some ponies. On sunday I had a go on the lawn mower and fed the pony. Later that day I went down to the park.

I had to wake up at 5:30 because we had to leave. We travelled through Hamilton, Taumarunui, Taupo and more. I had a bad headache. That day we finally got to Levin. I was so tired that I nearly slept the whole way down. And I had a great time..  It was one of the best times I've had.

And those are my questions for reading.

These are some questions I came up with. This is what we had to do for reading. I would ask these questions to Regan Gentry because the story we are reading is about him making plants out of wire.

1.What inspires you to do art?
2.What is your favourite art?
3.Where is your art based?
4.Where do you produce your art?
5.How would you inspire kids to do great art?

Symbolism!

This is what represents me in Symbols. Jesus,Family and Love.
In Extension we were given a task to pick a partner and then draw a symbol of something that is important to them. And this is my one done by my partner Cameo. As you can see at the top of the picture it says what the symbol means. We had 5 minutes to talk to your partner about what is important to them and then we had 5 minutes to draw. And this is what she drew. If you want to see what I drew for her you can simply click on this Link.

Guess the question...

This is my question. Try and guess it...

Writing!

We went to my uncles house, because it was my cousin’s birthday. He had a giant  birthday cake and on it there were ten sparkling candles. Then he blew them out with a big puff! But they wouldn't blow out. My uncle started dancing and singing and we said “he was being silly” . We went outside and played on the enormous  bouncy castle. It was super fun. :)

Use my Brain, Use my Heart, I'm going to be CyberSmart

Use my brain, Use my heart, I'm going to be CyberSmart.

Introduction-
Use my brain, Use my heart i’m going to be CyberSmart. Have you ever heard that phrase? That phrase is from Pt England Schools korero. We hear this korero everyday. This helps us to be CyberSmart at school on our netbooks.

Use my brain-
Using your brain is an important thing. You have to use your brain everyday. But at Pt England School we have to use it on our netbooks as well as everywhere else. When you are online you have to use your brain to be able to discover new things and learn different things. Being online everyday is not easy, because you can always do the wrong thing. For example if your in your mail and you have a dodgy email you might look in it and it might give your computer a virus. Thats why you should always think before you do.

Use my heart-
When you are online you should always use your heart. If you are online you need to be CyberSmart. For example you might send a nasty  message to someone else and it might hurt that person. Thats called cyber bullying. Never ever cyber bully. Cyber bullying  causes a lot of trouble so don’t do it. Doing that is not nice. This is why you should use your heart, to listen to your feelings. And using your heart online also means that you leave thoughtful comments on other peoples work. Don’t forget messages affect  peoples feelings.

I’m going to be CyberSmart-
Do you know what CyberSmart means? Being CyberSmart means that you are doing the right things online and  focusing on your learning.
It also means that you are being smart and doing your learning properly. Being CyberSmart means that you are doing the right thing and not going on dodgy sites. If your friend is on a dodgy site and she tells you to go on it but you don’t want to you can tell on the teacher .  Always do the right thing.

Conclusion-
That is why you should always do the right thing.
Do the right thing. And always try your best to do everything. Do you know how to be CyberSmart? Did you learn anything from this? Use my brain, Use my heart, I’m going to be CyberSmart!

What is Culture?

             What is Culture?

Culture’s are what make your country unique. There are different cultural rituals and activities for each country. Culture is seen in peoples  writing, religion, music, clothes, arts, cooking and in what they do.  In their country there are different beliefs and different values.

Culture also includes the way you understand the world and their own lives.
Different countries have different cultures.
For example, some older Japanese people wear kimonos, arrange flowers in vases and have tea ceremonies.

My Culture’s are New Zealander and RaroTongan. New Zealand is the place that my father is from and my mum is from RaroTonga. I am also a bit of Tahitian and Maori. I live in New Zealand. Sometimes I visit RaroTonga. Did you know that Culture has the same meaning as Nationality. What is your Culture?

My RaroTongan family always go to church. In RaroTonga there is some special things like our art, music and our cooking. My favourite RaroTongan food in rukau and taro. Rukau is made out of taro leaves. In our Country our flag has fifteen stars on it. In my culture we wear Pariues. In Samoan they call it lavalava. We wear in like a dress or you just tie it around your legs. Our traditional Art is a Tivaevae which looks like a blanket but it’s not and it has patterns on it.

My other culture is a New Zealander. My father is from New Zealand. His family is from a places called Ratihi. But now they live in Levin. Levin is by the Kapiti Coast and Wellington. They are a little bit of Maori and the rest of their culture New Zealander. And that is my Cultures

World War 1 Writing

World War 1 began on July 28, 1914 and lasted until November 11, 1918. Participants from WW1 Were the British Empire Including New Zealand ,Russian Empire,America and much more. US entered the war on April 6, 1917. The Victoria cross was awarded to all of the soldiers who fought in the war.

The New Zealand and Australian troops were called the ANZACS, that is why we wear the poppy flower. Every one hundred years on the 4th of August if you have a flag you should always put it half mast. So many flags today, will be flown at half mast.

The special saying of the WW1 is “ the shot that echoed around the world”.
Now days they don’t have any wars. Mr Burts grandfather and Miss Flavelles grandfather were both a part of the World War 1. Gas was one of the most affecting and damaging weapon. I also have a recording of me at the bottom of this post.

This is my Reading from this week

My Writing (Dictagloss)

The Commonwealth games , often known as the Friendly games, has a unique place in sporting history.  The Commonwealth is an  International multi-sport event, like the Olympics  except Athletes come from the Commonwealth countries. The Commonwealth includes Countries such as New Zealand, Pacific Islands and England.

The first Commonwealth games were held in 1930 in Hamilton, Canada. Eleven countries sent four hundred athletes over from their country to participate in the Commonwealth games. They took part in six sports and fifty nine events. .es every four years. However the Commonwealth games was cancelled in 1942 and 1946 because of World War two.

The multi-sport event has had many changes, even its name has had changes. From 1930 to 1950 the games have been known as the British Empire games. Later in 1970 to 1974 the games took the title of the British Commonwealth games. Finally, at the games in Edmonton, Canada in 1978 this multi-sport event changed its name to ` the Commonwealth games and that’s been its name since. This year its in Glasgow, Scotland.

In the first week of the Holidays I went to the Movies.  I went with my Cousin Oshyne and my Mother. We went to the Movies at Sylvia Park (Hoyts). The Movie we watched was Maleficent. It was about a girl who had wings, she is a fairy . There is also a human boy. The boy became the king of humans and then he cut of Maleficent’s wings. Then the boy grew and became a father to Arora.

A week later we went to ClimbZone. ClimbZone is a place where you go Rock Climbing. I went with my Aunty Emily, My cousin Oshyne and My mum. First we went to the receptionist and got our harnesses put on. Only me and my cousin did it. I was so fun. We also went into adventure land which is a indoor park and little rock climbing walls.

Then a few days laters, I went to my dads to help him renovate. I had to sand the door in the wash house.  After that I went to help my mum and nana clean his room. We had to pack all of the stuff out of his drawers and his wardrobe. They still have a bit pack. I have to help pack the things out of the rooms because my nana is moving to Levin and my dad is coming to live with me.

My holiday was amazing. The sweet taste of the popcorn, the coldness of the ice-cream mmm de-li-cious.  It was One of my best holidays. I went to amazing places. After reading my story would you like to go to ClimbZone or movies? If you behave you might get to go to one of these places.
